Warm for Winter

Earlier in Term Two, the Primary Mission Sisters launched a project to assist disadvantaged people in our community. After speaking to St Vincent de Paul, it was decided by this group of students that many homeless people in our community are in need of warm woolly Explorer Socks. More

2018 Autumn Concert

On Tuesday 15 May our Year 9/10 Elective Music Students, Instrumental Music Students, the Middle Years Voices, the Senior Singers and the College Orchestra staged our annual Autumn Concert. Field Day 2018

The Mount Carmel College Field Day was held on Tuesday 8 May at the University Sports Grounds in cold but dry conditions. The infant students kicked off proceedings with their cross country runs, while the Secondary students participated in activities on the top oval, including Target Throw, Obstacle Course, Golf, Frisbee Toss and Footy Punt. More

International Women's Day 2018

On Wednesday 7 March, Mount Carmel College hosted a breakfast for the leaders of the Alliance schools. The Alliance schools are The Fahan School, St Mary’s College, St Michael’s Collegiate and Oglivie High School and this group of schools sees as their main calling nourishing fearless students into strong women who will continue to drive progress forward and to balance the field in all nations. Grandparents & Family Friends’ Morning Tea

The College Hall was bursting at the seams on Thursday 9 November as we welcomed a very large number of grandparents and family friends to Mount Carmel at our inaugural Kindergarten to Year 8 (usually this was only to Year 6). It was a wonderful occasion and a great opportunity for students to show their musical talents and to show off their classrooms and recently tidied desks and trays! More

Footy Colours on Parade

As is the tradition for the last day of Term Three, all Mount Carmel students were encouraged to dress up in the colours of their footy team for Footy Colours Day, whether that is an AFL, Rugby or Soccer team or even an umpire. Sprinting onto the Podium

The Mount Carmel College Athletics Team produced outstanding performances at both the SSATIS Athletics Carnival and the SATIS Athletics Carnival, both held at the Domain Athletics Centre. Weather conditions were less than perfect with a couple of nasty showers at the SSATIS Carnival, but the team was on fire and their outstanding performances helped Mount Carmel to its equal best ever result, finishing 2nd in the Girls Junior Shield, 2nd in the U13s, U14s and U15s Pennants and 4th in U16 Pennant. More
A Trip to the Capital

On Tuesday 19th September, our Year 6 students and five staff members embarked on an education tour to Melbourne and Canberra. According to statistics from the National Capital Educational Tourism Project (NCETP) our girls will be part of the 160,000 students from around the country who visit the capital each year. More
Hockey Premiers

Congratulations to the Mount Carmel Gold Hockey Team, who took out the Hockey Tasmania Secondary School, Division 3A Grand Final against Fahan at the end of Term Three with a 3 – 0 win at the Tasmanian Hockey Centre. The team went through the roster undefeated and capped off a fantastic season to win the Premiership. More
