Mount Carmel College is a place that welcomes everyone, where there is no barrier to excellent education.

Mount Carmel College is a Catholic school built upon the core values of courage, compassion and justice, which underpin all that we do. Founded by the Sisters of Charity, their great faith gifted them with these traits.

Our beautiful setting provides an inspiring environment for all students. It serves as a backdrop for an educational style and curriculum that is challenging and nurturing, complimented by our outstanding facilities, technology and resources.

We strive to provide the best learning environment possible to promote the growth of every student. At the heart of our program is a commitment to the development of the whole child – connected, confident, resilient, resourceful and independent. Our all-girl’s learning environment provides a safe and enjoyable place for every student to thrive. Our focus on students enables us to develop a strong relationship, delivering quality experiences of learning, with adjustments made when greater support or extension is required.

Our College celebrates its Catholic faith through classroom prayer, weekly prayer services, class masses, liturgies based around seasonal events in the Catholic Church and significant events in our school year. Gathering as a whole school for the celebration of the Eucharist is a vital part of our Catholic story and our spiritual journey.

The wellbeing of our students is a shared responsibility for all our staff, who work together to nurture and support our students social and emotional development, enhance their self-esteem and foster a strong sense of belonging.

A strong thread is developed between Primary and Secondary students, through assemblies, Masses, sports carnivals and shared learning spaces. By being a Kinder to Year 10 school, Mount Carmel has the capacity to provide a pathway for the smooth transition of our Year 6 students to secondary school.

Our classrooms are digitally rich learning environments, with technology used as an integral platform across all areas of the curriculum and all year levels. Students readily access resources and engage with a range of technologies across learning areas.

Learning at Mount Carmel College is about more than what happens inside the classroom. We are passionate about learning for life. Our co-curricular program is fundamental to enabling students to identify and build upon their strengths, to learn more about themselves and others. Students are encouraged to be involved in a wide range of co-curricular opportunities, designed to foster their personal, spiritual, intellectual, social and emotional development. Students have the ability to actively partake in sporting endeavours, cultural pursuits and social justice initiatives. Outreach programs are designed to allow students to form relationships with the marginalised and stand in solidarity with God’s people from all walks of life, a hallmark of continuing the legacy of the Sisters of Charity.

Our commitment as educators is to walk with our students on their learning and faith journey, encouraging the students in our care to flourish as individuals and grow as the leaders of tomorrow.
